Incomparable Hawaii

Updated: Nov 13, 2023

When I planned our trip to Hawaii, I knew the weather would be perfect, the sights would be beautiful, and the waters would be blue. But I had no idea how diverse it was. I didn't realize that Hawaii had so many microclimates, even on the same island.

We decided to take our trip aboard NCL's The Pride of America which is an excellent way to see 4 of the islands and the beauty of the landscape along the journey. Our excursions included sunset on Haleakala, a land and sky tour of Kaui (our favorite!), touring Hilo and Hana on the Big Island, snorkeling in Molokini Crater, visiting many beautiful waterfalls, walking through a lava tube, and the honor of visiting Pearl Harbor and paying tribute to our fallen heroes. Even with all we saw, there is so much more to see!

The highlight of the trip was the Land & Sky excursion in Kauai. We started on a Helicopter ride with Blue Hawaiian tours. The tour is 50-minutes, and it takes you right into Mt. Waialeale, with views of the waterfalls (featured in Jurassic Park), then to the red ravine of Waimea Canyon and along the breathtaking area above the Na Pali Coast.

From there we met our land guide, Domi. He was fantastic. A native of Hawaii, he told us all about the terrain, the history of the people and the language, and told us of all the famous people who lived there.

It's difficult to choose which of the islands was our favorite. Each one has its own unique beauty. I would highly recommend traveling on The Pride of America which gives you the chance to island hop Hawaii and experience 4 islands with multiple excursion options.
